This is a personal project that I started working on in my second semester. The project is an analog LED follower that uses an RC oscillator as a clock source—with a potentiometer to control the speed of the clock—and a network of logic gates controlled by a set of demuxes and a binary counter. The motivation of the project is two-fold: first, I wanted to make something for my partner to show them what I've been learning, and two, I wanted to start putting my knowledge to the test by designing a circuit and learn how to print a PCB. Since I first started the project, the original idea has evolved in complexity. I am considering making a daughterboard that houses a microcontroller to control the lights based on how they are programmed as well as adding a musical aspect to the project. My plan now is to finish the analog portion of it to get it printed and work on the digital portion later.
